primero y ante todas cosas hizo juramento de fidelidad, y que aceptaba
y aceptó la dicha comisión, y juró in verbo sacerdotis poniendo la
mano derecha en el pecho ante el padre predicador Fray Alonso Rodrí-
guez, prior de este partido de Taal, de usar de ella según y como
por dicha comisión se contiene. Y lo firmó el dicho padre prior, y dicho
maestro Joseph Cabral. [Rúbricas] Fray Alonso Rodríguez, Maestro Joseph
Cabral. Ante mí, Alonso Márquez, notario.

En el dicho pueblo de Casaysay, en el dicho día, mes y año de suso
referido, el dicho maestro Joseph Cabral, juez de comisión recibió
juramento en forma de derecho por Dios Nuestro Señor y la señal de la
cruz, de Alonso Márquez, notario nombrado por Su Señoría Ilustrísima,
contenido en dicha comisión. El cual estando presente dijo
que aceptaba y aceptó el dicho nombramiento, y de usarlo bien y
fielmente a todo su leal saber y entender. Y a la absolución
del juramento dijo: “sí, juro y amén”. Y lo firmó con el dicho juez
de comisión. Maestro Joseph Cabral. Alonso Márquez, notario.
Concuerda con la comisión original y aceptamiento de ella
por el maestro Joseph Cabral y juramento. Y asimismo

cross, and said that he accepted his nomination. And he [promised] to carry [his duty] well and
faithfully in the best of his knowledge and abilities. And to the absolution
of the oath he said, "yes, I swear," and "amén." And he signed it along the mentioned
