Fray Juan Ramírez, rector provincial de esta provincia de Nuestro Padre San Agustín de Filipinas, por cuanto el Señor Arzobispo de Manila envía comisión
al maestro Joseph Cabral, beneficiado del partido de Balayan, para
que haga información de un milagro o milagros que se dice ha obra-
do Nuestra Señora de Casasay [sic] en el partido de Tal. Y por cuanto puede ser
haya algunos religiosos que sean testigos, o sepan algunas circuns-
tancias o cosas pertenecientes al dicho milagro. Por la presente
doy licencia a todos los religiosos de esta provincia de Nuestro Padre San Agustín que supieren de este caso, para que debajo de juramento, declaren
ante el dicho maestro Joseph Cabral lo que supieren. Y concedo
la autoridad necesaria al dicho maestro Joseph Cabral para que pueda
examinar y examine debajo de juramento, a cualesquiera re-
ligiosos de nuestra religión, acerca de este caso e informaciones
que para la probanza del dicho milagro se han de hacer. Hecho
en el pueblo de Pasig, en nueve del mes de enero de [1]640 años.

Friar Juan Ramírez, the Provincial Rector of this province of our father
Saint Augustine of the Philippines, state that señor Archbishop of Manila has sent an order to Master Joseph Cabral, in charge of the district of Balayan, to
conduct an investigation on the miracle or miracles that have been performed
by Our Lady of Casasay in the district of Taal. And, in case that there are
some religious men who were witnesses or know of the
circumstances or pertinent things that relate to the said miracle, by the present
[statement] I give permission to all of the religious men in this province of Our Father
Saint Augustine, who know about this case, to declare under oath
before the said Master Joseph Cabral everything that they know. And I grant
the necessary authority to the said Master Joseph Cabral so that he can
examine under oath any of the
religious men of our order about this case and the investigations
that will be conducted to offer as proof of the said miracle. Written
in the town of Pasig, on the ninth of January of 1640.
