El día 28 de mayo me avisó el Hermano Fray Diego
cómo había tenido noticias de que el juez
mayor había mandado que todos los indios
de Dongalo salieran a la sábana para señalarles
adonde habían de hacer la cerca, y
que si que yo le podía hablar para que no hiciera
tal cosa. Aquel mismo día por la tarde
estando sentado en la puerta del campo en
presencia del español que trajo el recado
y del fiscal mayor el Capitán Don Pedro de los
Santos, y de otro principal llamado Don Diego
Bernal llamé al juez mayor y le pregunté
si es verdad había echado bando para
que todos los de Dongalo fueran a la sábana
para señalarles adonde habían de hacer la cerca
y me respondió que era verdad. Porque todo
el común de Dongalo le habían presentado un
escrito pidiéndole lo hiciera así y que tenían
orden verbal del señor oidor fiscal para hacer allí
