Gerónima Esguerra, viuda de esta ciudad de Manila sobre el bando que pide que presenten los recaudos de las tierras que posee, 1697.

Gerónima Esguerra, a widow residing in Manila, presents herself before the authorities to comply with a decree requiring her to present documents related to the lands she possesses in Mandaluyong, under the jurisdiction of Tondo. She requests that her paperwork be officially acknowledged and returned to her in order to protect her rights. The response from the court, dated May 22, 1697, acknowledges her petition, but instructs Gerónima to allow her case to be handled by a procurator in order to proceed. The General Don Francisco de Ocampo, as an administrator of the estate of the deceased Don Nicolás Sarmiento, later conducts an auction for a piece of land formerly belonging to Sarmiento. Gerónima successfully bids on the land for 111 pesos, completing the transaction and receiving the necessary documentation despite her inability to write, which leads to a witness signing on her behalf. This text is in the volume with the title "Pertence al Aparador fuera de la Pared. Caxon No 18. Estancias. Legajo 6. Mandaloya y eztanzia de Aguña." The title is written in ink on the outside of the vellum cover. Comprises some 277 leaves, including a few blanks. Forms an integral while with the previous codex, the documents and transcripts in this one relating principally to the period 1656-1720.
