Reclaiming the Lost Archive of San Agustin Library

This is a letter from Carta de Fray Álvaro de Benavente sobre su llegada a Macao. He mentions that he is repeating information contained in a previous letter he sent in November of the previous year, but believes that the letter was lost via Chincheo. He believes that God meant for him and his colleagues to be in China because, upon arriving in Macao, he, Juan Gómez and a Franciscan friar were about to get deported to Goa and avoided that fate.
